BENGALURU: An SSLC student, who was riding a scooter, was killed after a private bus ran over him on Nirja Road in Anekal town on the outskirts of the City this morning.  The teenager was to appear for an exam tomorrow.

Shabad had gone out on the scooter to buy milk around 7 am when a private bus belonging to Strides Company ran over him. Shahbad was returning home from Shivaji Circle to Devarakondappa Circle when he was run over. He came under the rear wheel of the bus and died on the spot.

Three major accidents have occurred in Anekal city in the last week. A Forest Department employee was killed after he was hit by a tipper a few days ago and a 16-year-old youth was killed after being hit by a tractor yesterday.

Local residents allege that the drivers of tippers, buses and truck keep talking on their mobile phones and indulge in speeding, leading to accidents. They have also demanded that the traffic police implement stricter measures to reduce accidents and loss of lives.
