Senior IPS officer M A Saleem brought back to manage Bengaluru traffic

BENGALURU: The state government has transferred several Indian Police Service (IPS) officers in a major rejig late on Monday.

Among those transferred and given new posting are ADGP M A Saleem as Special Commissioner (traffic),  M N Anucheth as Joint Commissioner of Bengaluru Traffic, Ramesh Banoth as Mysuru city police commissioner, Umesh Kumar as ADGP-Administration, Raman Gupta as Joint Commissioner of Police, CID, Sharanappa S D as Bengaluru as Commissioner, CCB, Chadraguptas as DIG-Western Zone, Mangaluru, Ravi D Channannavar as MD of Keonics, Ravikantegowda as DIG-CID and Lokesh Kumar as DIG, Ballari Range.

The surprise move was the appointment of M A Saleem as Special Traffic Commissioner for the first time. Saleem, who has expertise in traffic management, was brought in to smoothen traffic in the city. The government appointed the ADGP-grade officer for the post of Traffic Commissioner by upgrading the post.
