MANDYA: A scooterist thrashed and slapped a schoolgirl who was riding a bicycle as she allegedly came in his way, at Subhash Nagar here on Wednesday. A video of the incident where the girl can be seen pleading with the scooterist and seeking forgiveness was recorded on a mobile phone.
The girl Maya was on her way to school when she encountered the scooterist Ramesha on the road. He thrashed the girl, slapped and threatened her though she was crying and pleading for forgiveness.
A person seated in a car recorded the entire incident on his mobile phone. Based on a complaint by the girl’s father Swamy N M, and the video evidence, the police have booked a case against Ramesha under the Juvenile Justice Act.
