CHITRADURGA: The centenarian grandmother of Renukaswamy, who was killed by actor Darshan and others, died on Wednesday due to age-related illness.

Pramiladevi (102), who had been unwell for several days at her residence in Chitradurga, was admitted to Basaveshwara Medical College & Hospital and was undergoing treatment. But she did not respond to treatment and passed away on Wednesday morning.

Arrangements were made for family and others to pay their last respects to the deceased at her house until 4 pm and the final rites were conducted after 5 pm at the Hindu cremation ground on Jogimatti Road

The deceased is survived by three sons, including Renukaswamy’s father Kashinath Shivanagouda, four daughters, and an extended family.

Speaking to the media, Renukaswamy’s father Kashinath Shivanagouda said, ‘Our centenarian mother Pramiladevi was very close to her grandson Renukaswamy. So we had not clearly told her about Renukaswamy’s murder. That’s why she would often ask about Renukaswamy, and she passed away today grieving for him. Sometimes my mother would forget what we told her about him. But whenever she remembered the care and affection Renukaswamy showed her, she would ask about him. She would ask, ‘Where has my grandson gone?’”
