Quadruple murder accused remanded to 14 days in police custody

UDUPI: The accused in the quadruple murder case, Praveen Arun Chougule, was on Thursday produced before the JMFC court which remanded him to 14 days in police custody.

Interestingly, Praveen, who hails from Sangli in Maharashtra, spoke in Kannada when the judge asked him questions. When the judge asked him when he was arrested, Praveen replied saying that it was around 6 pm on Tuesday.

The accused was taken to the house for spot inquiry. A large crowd gathered outside demanding justice.

When the judge asked him about his hometown, he replied saying Sangli in Maharashtra. When the judge questioned him about his Mangaluru address, Praveen said he has been living in a flat near Bejai for the last 16 years.

Meanwhile, Praveen is said to have admitted to the crime during questioning by the police. A video of Praveen inside an aircraft of a private airline, where he is seen demonstrating safety instructions has also surfaced. He has been living in Mangaluru for the last 16 years, the police revealed.
