BENGALURU: The Central Crime Branch (CCB) police have unearthed a prostitution ring operating through Twitter and Telegram and arrested five couples so far.

According to the police, couples posing as husband and wife get in touch with high net-worth individuals on Twitter and Telegram. They then weave a story that they have suffered losses in business and the ‘husband’ then offers the target to have sex with his ‘wife’ for anywhere between Rs 40,000-Rs 50,000 per hour after showing a picture. Once a deal is struck and an advance paid, the couple arrive in Bengaluru and book rooms in upscale hotels, they said.
