Police arrest three for kidnapping man, demanding Rs 50 lakh ransom

BENGALURU: The Chennammana Kere Acchukattu police have arrested three people who kidnapped a person and demanded a ransom of Rs 50 lakh to settle some pending criminal cases. The arrested are history sheeter Arun alias Tsunami, Kiran Kumar and Somashekhar.

The accused kidnapped Sandeep Kumar at 2:30 am on August 31 from Ittamadu in Bengaluru and took him to a farmhouse in Tamil Nadu’s Denkanikottai where they demanded Rs 50 lakh in ransom. The accused threatened to kill him if the money was not given.

Sandeep escaped from the kidnappers while his kidnappers were shifting him to another place the next day. Then, he returned to Bengaluru with the help of the Tamil Nadu police.

Following Sandeep’s complaint, a case was registered against the four accused, and police are on the lookout for another accused who has gone missing. A case was registered at Chennammana Kere Acchukattu police station.
