Gurupriya, the dog owner, has announced a Rs 50,000 reward.

BENGALURU: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, who hears out public grievances outside his private residence every morning, had an unusual request from a citizen — to help find her lost dog. The pet owner has also announced a Rs 50,000 reward to anyone who finds it.

Gurupriya, a resident of Basaveshwaranagar in the city would take her pet dog Gunda with her on her two-wheeler whenever she went out. Around 8.4 am on June 22, when she was riding with Gunda, an autorickshaw hit the two-wheeler and the dog fell and ran away. Since then, the dog has not been found despite all efforts by Gurupriya and her family.

“Ever since Gunda escaped, a pall of gloom has enveloped our household. We didn’t even celebrate by son’s birthday which was two days later. Festivals have been a muted affair in our house these days. I had earlier announced a reward of Rs 30,000 to anyone who finds Gunda, but now, I have hiked it to Rs 50,000”, Gurupriya told Public TV.

The family even got in touch with the trainer of the dog which featured in the recent movie Charlie 777 and sought help to trace Gunda. They had even distributed flyers and posters, but nothing seems to have helped so far. The dog Gunda is a mixed breed of Mudhol and Doberman and is six years old.

After Gurupriya met the CM, who is himself a dog lover, his office called the jurisdictional police to help find the dog.
