SHIVAMOGGA: Tension prevailed at the Shivamogga railway station for some time on Sunday after two boxes were found abandoned in the parking lot, causing panic.

As soon as the discovery of the abandoned boxes at the railway station came to light, the police and canine squad visited the place and conducted checks. Barricades had been put up around the spot where the box was found, and the public was restricted from going near it.

Sand bags were kept around the box and a bomb disposal unit, which left from Bengaluru was expected to reach Shivamogga by evening. The box will be opened after the bomb disposal team arrives.
