The Deveeramma temple at Bindiga in Chikkamagalur draws thousands of devotees during Deepavali.

CHIKKAMAGALUR: The trust managing the famous Deveeramma temple at Bindiga in the district and the Endowment Department has imposed a dress code for devotees, allowing only traditional wear.

Thousands of devotees undertake an arduous trek to the temple every year.

As per the notice issued by the temple trust, short dresses, skirts, sleeveless garments, shorts, socks, etc., are prohibited and mobile phones are banned in the temple premises. Only traditional wear will be allowed and pre-wedding shoots, creating social media reels is barred.

Every year, thousands of devotees undertake an arduous trek on the steep hill to visit the temple during Deepavali. The trek usually starts late night and devotees include people of all ages, including children.
