BENGALURU: A Nepali couple drugged a realtor’s family member by spiking juice with some powder and made away with cash and other valuables worth over Rs 1 crore in Kodigehalli. They have since been arrested.
Dinesh (21) and Menaka (20) had joined work at the realtor’s house as a security guard and domestic help, respectively about two months ago.
On February 27, the realtor had gone out of town and returned the next night only to find his daughter-in-law semi-conscious. The family immediately rushed her to a hospital.
On checking the house, the family discovered that Rs 40 lakh in cash, foreign currency, two gold rings and three expensive watches were missing. When they realised that Dinesh and Menaka were also missing, the family members lodged a complaint with the Kodigehalli police.
The police have recovered the cash and valuables from the couple and taken up further investigation.
