Namma Metro services on green line disrupted due to technical glitch, passengers fume

BENGALURU: Namma Metro services witnessed a massive disruption on Tuesday morning along the green line as the re-rail vehicle derailed on the Metro track in the early hours of Tuesday. The problem occurred after the re-rail vehicle, which is used to fix technical issues in metro trains, derailed at the Rajajinagar station.

The services from Nagasandra to Silk Board was disrupted, and trains were plying only between Yeshwanthpur and Mantri Square. Currently, a single Metro train is running every half hour on the Green line.

Metro staff are struggling to clear the re-rail vehicle, which was stranded on the track. Passengers are likely to be inconvenienced till this afternoon.
Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) authorities informed Public TV that there will be one-way Metro transportation till the re-rail is cleared.
Taking the social media plat form, Namma Metro  apologised for the inconvenience, saying, “In addition to earlier tweet regarding Metro train operations in Green line, single line operations are being done between Yeshwanthpur to Mantri Square Sampige road metro stations to reduce the inconvenience to metro passengers. FKI”
In an earlier post on X, it said, “Namma Metro commuters may kindly note. Train services on Green line will be available between Nagasandra to Yeshwanthpur and Mantri Square-Sampige Road to Silk Board Metro stations due to a technical snag at Rajajinagar Metro Station . Inconvenience caused is regretted”.
Some commuters took the Metro staff to task for the inconvenience at Yeshwantpur station. Many who use the Metro in the city suffered suffered due to lack of services. A large number of people had gathered at the Metro station and were waiting for services to resume. The Metro engineers and staff were still working on fix the re-rail vehicle at the time of filing this report.
