KALABURAGI, UDUPI: Two youths have been arrested by the Wadi police in an alleged ‘love jihad’ case wherein a Dalit youth, who was in love with a Muslim girl, was brutally murdered. The arrested are the girl’s brother Shahbuddin and his friend Nawaz.
Vijay Kamble, the Dalit youth, was in love with Shahbuddin’s sister for the last five years. However, the girl’s family was opposed to the relationship.
On Wednesday night, the Shahbuddin and Nawaz brutally murdered Vijay with deadly weapons at the Railway Quarters in Wadi town.
Meanwhile, in the case related to the suicide of Shilpa Devadiga at Uppinakudru village in Kundapur taluk, the police have come across a cryptic letter. Shilpa, who was in love with Aziz, ended her life two days ago.
The curious letter has 3-digit number against which different moods and feelings have been mentioned.
The letter says things like “he loves you only for your external beauty”, “he is pretending to love you only to pass time”, “he does everything, but tells you that he hates you”, “he will cheat you”, etc.
The police are investigating further.
