Maharashtra had put up a road sign well inside Karnataka territory.

CHIKKODI: After the Maharashtra Ekikaran Samiti stoking controversies repeatedly, it now seems that the Maharashtra government itself has got to needling Karnataka.

Right under the nose of the Karnataka government, Maharashtra has erected a road sign 3 km inside the border at Sankeshwar in Hukkeri taluk of Belagavi district. But PWD officials in the state seem to be unaware of it.

Kannada activists took down the road sign.

On Thursday, a group of Kannada activists staged a protest condeming the negligent attitude of the PWD officials and Maharashtra’s mischief. They even took down the road sign after the Sankeshwar police arrived on the scene.
