MYSURU: Officials counting the votes for the Council election from the South Graduates constituency were in for a surprise when they came across a letter in the ballot box from a voter seeking a borewell on the land owned by this father.

In his letter, the voter, identified as Rajendra, says he has completed his MA and BEd courses but is working on his father’s land as he has no job. He also makes an appeal for a government job or a borewell on the farm land.

Among his other pleas include reduction in the prices of petrol and chemical fertilisers. Rajendra is a resident of Ganiganur in Yelandur taluk of Chamarajanagar district.

There were other letters too in the ballot boxes with various personal demands. Some of the voters have even scribbled abuses against the candidates on the ballot paper itself. One of the voters had even complained that none of the candidates had offered money for the votes.
