BIDAR: Union Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilizers Bhagwant Khuba has waded into a controvery after a purported audio clip of him talking arrogantly to a farmer went viral.

The farmer Srimath Patil from Hedgapur village in Aurad taluk had called the Union minister to apprise him of fertilizer shortage in his area and sought the latter’s intervention to ensure proper supply. However, he got a rude reply from the minister who said that it was not his job and directed the farmer to approach the local MLA or officials.

“What can I do if fertilizer has not reached your village? There are thousands of government employees to oversee distribution, go to them. My job is to send fertilizer to the states which I have done. Go and ask the local MLA and the officials. Don’t I have other work?” the minister is heard saying.

When the farmer asked how he will get elected the next time, Khuba says he knows how to win elections. “I am a central minister and I look after states. I can’t ensure that each and every farmer has got fertilizer. You can do whatever you want”, he chided the farmer.
