Missing MLIRC commando trainer found at Belagavi railway station, handed over to army

BELAGAVI: A trainer with the GLV commando wing of the Maratha Light Infantry Regimental Centre here, who had been missing since June 12, has been found at the Belagavi railway station.

Subedar Surjit Singh (45), hailing from Punjab, has been a trainer with the MLIRC commando training centre for the last 10 years and was living in the army camp.

The MLIRC authorities had lodged a complaint with the Camp police who set up a team under DCP (crime) Sneha to trace the missing army officer.

Based on reliable information that he was headed to Kolhapur, the police team picked him up from Belagavi railway station and handed him over to the MLIRC authorities. It is suspected that he may have been depressed due to some personal issues.
