Work will be done to clear garbage from roadsides and public places. Cleaning will be carried out at around 1,616 spots. On the other hand, he has issued a warning to owners of vacant sites. If there is garbage on vacant sites, it must be cleared within one month.
The minister has set a deadline until August 15. If not, the GBA will clear the garbage on vacant sites and the owner will have to bear the cost of clearance. The penalty will be added to property tax, he stated.
He has also directed the removal of unauthorized hoardings. A licence is mandatory to put up hoardings. He further said that there will be no property tax hike. “I have no intention of increasing property tax,” he said. “I am not in favor of increasing property tax,” he added.
