Minister Eshwar Khandre sets deadline to return body parts of wild animals

BIDAR: Forest, Ecology and Environment Minister Eshwar Khandre has warned people in possession of wild animal parts, including teeth, nails, organs and skin, to the Forest Department within 2 to 3 months.

Speaking to the media here, the minister said a deadline will be set for to those who are in possession of wild animal parts to return them. He said that he has already held a meeting with all the senior officials of the Forest Department and has prepared a draft regarding the same.

“People are not aware of that they cannot possess animal part. So, we are giving them a chance to return them to the Forest Department. A decision has been taken after discussion with the Chief Minister and it will be implemented after being presented in the cabinet meeting on November 9. Hunting wildlife is a crime, but our department will prevent it”, Khandre added.
