BENGALURU: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, in a series of tweets on Sunday, raised questions on the Women’s Reservation Bill and asked if God sent Modi to cheat women.
He spoke after the inaugurating a seminar on ‘Women’s Reservation Bill’, organised in collaboration with the Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Samata Vidyalaya, Karnataka State Backward Castes Union and Karnataka Deprived Communities Federation, held at Gandhi Bhavan here. The CM also shared the information on his official ‘X’ Twitter page.
“Delimitation for women’s reservation, fixing the age and the census are all BJP’s tricks. Therefore, it is doubtful that women’s reservations will be implemented. If the BJP had a sincere concern to give reservation to women, it would not have put up so many obstacles”, the CM said.

“The central government has fixed the age limit of 15 years for women’s reservations, as implemented by PM Modi. The validity of the Act is just 15 years from the date of its enactment. That means the Act has now been implemented, and it is valid for only 15 more years. However, they have given two points: caste census and delimitation. 15 years will end by the time two work are finished. Thus, the Bill’s validity will expire before the Act comes into force. This is the ultimate fraud done to women”, he commented.

”Earlier, PM Modi, in a speech, said that God has sent him to implement reservation for women. If you see now, he defrauded women. Did God send Modi to cheat women? The Women’s Reservation Bill was prepared by Congress. The Congress has always been in favour of women’s reservation and social justice. I fully support reservation for backward-class women in the Bill. I will support 50 per cent not just 33 per cent reservation”, CM added.

“The Women’s Reservation Bill will not be implemented even in 2024 . It will not be implemented in 2029 nor in 2034. By then, the validity of the Act will be over. Women will completely deprived of education like Shudras. Women got opportunities in education due to their fight and the Constitution. Women are at the top of education because they have the opportunity. Don’t give big applause by believing the Bill blindly that women’s reservation have been implemented”, he added. “We all should continue to fight for women’s reservation and social justice”, the CM said.
