Many from Karnataka crack UPSC exams

BENGALURU: Several candidates from Karnataka have cracked the Union Public Services Commission (UPSC) examinations this time.

Eleven candidates who took coaching at the Dr Rajkumar Civil Service Academy in Bengaluru have passed the civil services examination. They include Melvin Verghese (Rank 1550, Suraj D (197), Akash A L (210), Cheluvaraj (234), Saurabh (260), Shruthi Yaragatti (362), Pooja Mukund (390), Bhanu Prakash (448), Dr Varun Gowda (594), Akashkumar Rajgouda Patil (746) and Arjun Naik (890).

Among other successful candidates include Saurabh (198), Siddalingappa K Pujar (589), son of a bus conductor in Hubballi, Meghana (617) and Mohammed Siddique.

Shruthi Yaragatti, who hails from Yaragatti village in Gokak taluk, availed coaching for one year at the Sri Ram IAS Coaching Centre in New Delhi. She had failed thrice in the interview, but did not give up. In her fourth attempt, she scored less and finally, in her sixth attempt, she scores 362nd rank.

Shruthi completed her BSc winning three gold medals, and underwent coaching in Delhi. Later, she moved to a paying guest accommodationi at Vijayanagar in the city and attended Manifest IAS coaching centre.

Dr Bhanu Prakash, who hails from T Begur in Nelamangala taluk, is practising as a paediatrician at the Siddartha hospital.

Siddalingappa K Pujar, who scored 589th rank, hails from Annigeri in Dharwad district. He is the son of a KSRTC bus driver in Hubballi and did most of his scholing in Kannada medium.

Pooja Mukund from Mysuru has completed her engineering and is currently employed. She cleared the UPSC exam in her second attempt.

 

Manoj H P, Tanmay, Siddalingappa Pujar and Cheluvaraju.

Cheluvaraju, who hails from Doddabadigere village in Harohalli taluk, has done his electrical engineering degree and cleared the civil services exam in his third attempt. He hails from a farming family and studied in government institutions up to PUC.
