After Prakash a.k.a Omkarappa revealed that he had kept the girl’s head on a tree, a police team led by Deputy SP Gangadharappa took him to the spot and recovered the head and a pair of footwear from near the place where he had murdered her.

On seeing the head of Meena, her brother Dileep burst into a rage, but was calmed down by the policemen. He then brought a gun and threatened to shoot Prakash, but was led away by the police.

Police recovered the severed head of the girl from a tree a little distance away from the murder scene.

Dileep and his uncle said the murder was preplanned as Prakash had convinced bother brothers to go along with him to his house and later returned to commit the murder. “He was not acting alone, there were two to three others with him. He should not be released on bail at any cost and he should be hanged to death or sentenced to life imprisonment”, they said.
