Man washed away in rajakaluve after heavy downpour, local claim unscientific construction

BENGALURU: On the day Infosys techie Bhanurekha died after the vehicle in which she was travelling got stuck at the flooded KR Circle underpass, another man was washed away in a rajakaluve near K P Agrahara due to heavy rain in Bengaluru on Sunday.

The victim has been identified as Lokesh (27). His body was found near the rajakaluve in Byatarayanapura. Police inspected the incident spot and the body was shifted to the Victoria Hospital for post-mortem procedure. A case has been registered in this regard at K P Agrahara police station.

Locals have claimed that the incident was occurred due to unscientific construction of the Rajakanaluve. This is the second death reported in the city in one day after just one heavy rain.

Bhanurekha, hailing from Andhra Pradesh, was taking her family to visit the popular tourist spots in Bengaluru. But their car got stuck at the K R Circle underpass. While six people were rescued, Bhanurekha died.
