Farmers dumped their produce on the road due to low prices.

HAVERI: With the steep fall in the prices of flowers, farmers dumped their chrysanthemum and marigold produce in protest on the road in front of the market near the district hospital here on Monday.

The farmers protested on the road for some time.

Farmers from different parts of the district come to the market here to sell their produce. On Monday, they staged a protest over the steep fall in prices and the alleged interference of middlemen.

The farmers claimed that when they tried to sell the produce themselves, they were not given space by the other sellers. Fed up of this, they threw their produce on the road. The Haveri Town police visited the spot and convinced the farmers to withdraw their protest.
