BENGALURU: A late-night argument over a trivial reason ended in the murder of a man at Kempegowda Layout in Laggere. The deceased was identified as Kumar (45), who worked as a cook.
On Tuesday night, Kumar was returning home after drinking alcohol with his maternal uncle’s son. At that time, he stopped his bike on the roadside to relieve himself. Then, an unidentified man there picked a quarrel, questioning Kumar, “Are you urinating while looking at me?” To this, Kumar shouted back, “Who are you to question me?”

Kumar’s nephew intervened, broke up the fight, and made Kumar sit on the bike. But the enraged unidentified man questioned Kumar if he was trying to run away and punched Kumar brutally in the face.
Due to the force of the blow, Kumar fell off the bike, suffered a severe head injury, and collapsed on the spot. He was immediately taken to Kanva Hospital and later to Ramaiah Hospital, but he succumbed during treatment.
After the incident, the accused escaped from the spot.A case has been registered at Mahalakshmi Layout Police Station in this regard, and police are conducting an intensive search to trace the absconding unidentified man.
