CHIKKODI: A man died after he was washed away in a drain at Athani on Wednesday morning. The deceased was identified as Gururaj Eerappa Yadawad (75).
Following the heavy rain on Tuesday night, the Masuba tank had been overflowing. Gururaj, who was on his way to a temple, was washed away by the flowing water. His body was found by the roadside later.
Gururaj was a resident of Jere Galli in Athani. The police have registered a case and taken up further investigation.
