Man arrested from Bihar for killing wife, dumping body in open drain in Sarjapur

BENGALURU: A man who had escaped after killing his wife and dumping her body in a drain, has been arrested from Bihar. The police arrested him from the wedding venue.

The accused Mohammad Nasim (39) is a native of Bihar. The incident occurred on November 11 in Sarjapur on the outskirts of Bengaluru. The victim has been identified as Rumesh Khatun (22). The accused suspected his wife’s character and used to repeatedly assault her.

On the night of November 11, the couple had a fight, which turned violent. Nasim strangled his wife to death and then stripped her body. He tied her hands and legs with a rope and dumped her body in a drain.

A week later, the police found the body in a decomposed state after locals complained of foul smell emanating from the drain. The police registered a murder case and began investigating. They tracked down the accused in Bihar, where he was in the preparation of his third wedding ceremony.
