MANDYA: Amid the controversy over the Jamia Masjid in Srirangapatna, it is now being alleged that the protected monument has been encroached upon and people are living inside the complex in blatant violation of rules.

This comes just a day ahead of the ‘Srirangapatna Chalo’ call given by the Vishwa Hindu Parishat.

Hindu groups have pointed out to the presence of a dormitory within the complex and claim that some youths from other states are also residing there. They suspect that the youths may be students of a madrasa being run inside the protected monument.

They also claimed that several pillars inside the complex have Hindu motifs life Nagabana, kalash and others. A video shot inside the complex has now gone viral.

Hindu groups have now demanded action against the madrasa and point to the video as proof.
