BENGALURU: In response to concerns over closure of government schools after the opening of 700 public schools, Primary Education Minister Madhu Bangarappa said that government schools will not be closed in any situation. “Those who spread these rumours should keep their mouths shut. Even if there is a single child, it will not be closed”, he asserted.
The minister said that he will be reviewing the alleged fake BEO circular that is going viral about closing government schools. “Government schools will not be closed, but will be merged. Children may move from one school to another, but no one needs to worry about this”, he stressed.
On Congress MLA Raju Kage demanding a separate North Karnataka state, Madhu Bangarappa condemned Raju Kage’s letter saying that no such thing will happen. “We will not allow the state to be divided for any reason. Raju Kage’s statement is his personal view. Karnataka will remain united and we will not allow anyone to divide it”, he said.
