Kuvempu University VC faces flak for invite on ‘official circular’ for daughter’s birthday

HIVAMOGGA: Kuvempu University vice-chancellor Prof B P Veerabhadrappa has been drawn into a controversy after he allegedly got a personal invitation for his daughter’s birthday celebration designed as an official circular. The invitation in the form of circular is now doing the rounds on social media and netizens are slamming him for his act.

As per rules, no government letterhead can be misused by any politician or government officials for their personal programmes.

Prof B P Veerabhadrappa has been widely criticised for getting invitations printed on what looks like an official letterhead for his daughter’s birthday, with people alleging that it was a senseless act.

The VC sent out the invitations, which look like an official circular bearing the logo of Kuvempu University. He attached a letter along with it to the faculty, guest lecturers and non-teaching staff to attend the function at his residence and to consider the circular as a personal invitation.
