Magadi MLA H C Balakrishna created a storm with his remark.

RAMANAGARA: Congress MLA representing Magadi, H C Balakrishna, created a storm when he said they will work only for villages which voted for the party and think about other villages which did not vote for the Congress.

Speaking to media persons at Magadi on Wednesday, Balakrishna said the JD(S) aligning with the BJP will make it easier for the Congress. “In next year’s Lok Sabha election, there will be no division of votes. Even the votes which are against the alliance will come in favour of the Congress. Moreover, our government will be in power for five years and we will know in which booths we have got good number of votes”, he said.

In a shocker, he further said, “We will work in the places where we have got good number of votes and leads and we will think about what to do where we did not get votes. People should think who they vote for”, he stressed, hinting that no development will be done if voters do not choose Congress.

He pointed out that the JD(S) was cutting into Congress votes and not BJP votes and added that Congress votes will now get consolidated. “In realpolitik, one will come to know the ground realities. In the Assembly election, the Congress was in third place, but our position will improve and the margin may come down to only about 5,000 votes. Won’t this be beneficial for us”? he asked.
