BENGALURU: Two months ahead of his retirement, senior IPS officer Prathap Reddy has tendered his resignation citing personal reasons. The move is being seen  as a significant development in the state police department.

Question are now being raised about whether Prathap Reddy really resigned for personal reasons or whether the recent changes in the police department led to his decision. As DGP, he was reportedly upset over some developments. According to sources close to the officer, he was being hurt intentionally which is why he resigned.

Recently, Director General & Inspector General of Police (DG&IGP) Alok Mohan issued a memo to Prathap Reddy for attending an archery games event. The memo sought a reply as to why appropriate action should not be taken against Pratap and 11 other officials including MA Saleem, Alok Kumar and Seemanth Kumar Singh.
