Woman doctor at KIMS alleges sexual harassment by junior doctor

BENGALURU: A woman doctor, who is the head of pharmacognosy at KIMS hospital, has alleged sexual harassment by a junior colleague. A complaint has been lodged with the Banashanakari police station in this connection.

Dr Raju has been accused of harassing her sexually and tormenting her to leaving the institution by spreading rumours about the woman doctor in the college circles and among friends.

As per her complaint, Dr Raju is junior to her and works in the same department. She alleged that as per the seniority list, she was qualified, but vice-principal Dr Anil Kumar K V named Dr Raju H V intentionally. When she went to the principal to question this, Raju stopped her. When she complained with the principal, he pulled her and fought with her. Dr Raju forced her to withdraw her complaint and asked her to write an apology letter, but she did not agree, she contended.

The woman doctor alleged that Dr Ravi used to stalk her wherever she went and tormented her. She claimed that Dr Raju would even come to her house and pick up fights, insult her publicly and disrespected her; he also used abusive language. The Banashankari police are investigating a case after registering the case.
