BENGALURU: All hell broke loose at the Gandhi Bhavan here, where Bharatiya Kisan Union leader Rakesh Tikait was addressing a press conference when some people snatched a microphone and assaulted Tikait and threw black ink at him.

Tikait, along with Bharatiya Kisan Union general secretary Yudhvir Singh, Prof Ravivarma Kumar and Chukki Nanjundaswamy were addressing a joint press conference when a man suddenly went up to the dais, snatched a microphone and assaulted Tikait with it.

At the same time, Bharat Shetty of Rashtra Rakshana Pade threw black ink on Tikait. Chants of ‘Modi, Modi’ were also raised even as a scuffle broke out and chairs were flung.

Prior to this, Shetty had participated in the discussions. Questions were raised about the farms laws and alleged money deals, which led to a heated debate. Following this, the attack took place. Apparently, the anger was over Tikait allegedlyl misguiding farmers on the farm laws making money at the cost of farmers.
