CHIKKABALLAPUR: MLA Pradeep Eshwar hit back at former minister and MLA Dr K Sudhakar over allegations that his supporters had attacked the latter’s workers and had openly challenged him to resign as an MLA and contest an an Independent.
In a counter statement, Pradeep said, “Sudhakar is from our town, I respect him. If Sudhakar contests from another constituency, he may enter Vidhana Soudha next time. If he contests from Chikkaballapur, he will have to suffer for another five years. It may be better if he finds another constituency. Moreover, why should he contest as an Independent candidate? Will he not get a ticket from the BJP? I had defeated him just two months ago, then why should I contest again?” he asked.
Continuing his attack, Pradeep Eshwar said, “If he (Sudhakar) wants to become an MLA, let him contest after five years as an independent candidate”.
Earlier, Dr Sudhakar taunted Pradeep Eshwar saying that he would not get even 5,000 votes. Pradeep lashed him out at him saying the former won’t get even 500 votes, while he will win with a margin of 5,000 votes. “If he is really so confident, then why did he get lesser votes in his own constituency. We both hail from the same town, I got 1,700 more votes against him. With this, we can understand that how much respect he gets in his hometown”.
Pradeep Eshwar requested the Sudhakar supporters not to quarrel with his supporters. “If he will be good in Bengaluru, I will be good myself here. So, please do not make your family to cry. If not for the trust of his supporters, he would have nothing”, Pradeep said.
“I have seen the real face of Dr Sudhakar. If his supporters take the law into their hands, I know how to cut their tails”, Pradeep warned. “Sudhakar alleged that my supporters attacked his people. Does Sudhakar have any sense of shame? I never listened to anyone when I was not in power. I know how to bring them down the right path”.
Poking fun at Sudhakar, Pradeep Eshwar said, “I am not using police escort, power is not permanent. If I lose power, I am ready to sweep the KPCC office. If he loses power, is he ready to do that?” Pradeep challenged Sudhakar.
“Sudhakar met some leaders, had plans to bring in others to join the party and ask for an MP seat. But the Congress leaders did not agree. These days, he is not appearing in any of his party programmes. Maybe he is now practising to contest as an independent candidate”, Pradeep Eshwar mocked Sudhakar.
The Congress MLA alleged corruption in the construction of a medical college in Chikkaballapur, built at a cost of Rs 500 crore. “But suddenly, it was jacked up to Rs 800 crore. Sudhakar had claimed Rs 20 crore was spent on the construction of a dome. Why was so much money needed? There is no record for another Rs 113 core, so I have sought an SIT investigation”, he said.
Pradeep Eshwar lashed out at former minister Sudhakar, saying, “Investigation is not only into the medical college, but also into the city municipal council and urban development authority under IAS officer Aditya Amlan Biswas”.
