Heat wave warning for parts of state

BENGALURU: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that heat wave conditions will increase in most parts of north- and south-interior Karnataka, including Kalaburagi, Bagalkot, Tumakuru and Kolar in the coming days.

According to the IMD, Bagalkot, Kalaburagi, Belagavi and Raichur districts will experience very warm weather while Bengaluru will record a maximum temperatures that are very likely to be around 37 degrees. Raichur recorded the maximum temperature of 43.0 degrees Celsius on Monday.

At HAL airport in Bengaluru the maximum temperature was 37.6 degrees Celsius while the minimum temperature was 23.4 degrees Celsius. In the city, the maximum temperature was 38.5 degrees and the minimum was 25.0 degrees Celsius on Monday.

The maximum temperature at KIA was 38.2 degrees Celsius and the minimum was 23.5 degrees while it was 37.0 degrees Celsius and 21.4 degrees Celsius, respectively at GKVK.

In other parts of the sate, Honnavar recorded a maximum temperature of 34.5 degrees Celsius and minimum temperature of 26.2 degrees Celsius. In Karwar, the maximum was 36.8 degrees Celsius and the minimum was 29.3 degrees Celsius while in Shirali, the temperature was 37.6 degrees Celsius and 24.6 degrees Celsius, respectively. Panambur recorded a maximum of 35.4 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 27.3 degrees Celsius.

In north Karnataka, Bidar recorded 39.8 degrees Celsius and 26.5 degrees Celsius; Bagalkot 42.3 degrees Celsius and 28.1 degrees Celsius; Dharwad 39.2 degrees Celsius and 23.4 degrees Celsius; Gadag 40.2 degrees Celsius 24.2 degrees Celsius, respectively.

In central and south Karnataka, Chitradurga recorded a maximum temperature of 39.8 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 24.1 degrees Celsius while Chamarajanagar recorded a maximum temperature of 40.1 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 21.2 degrees Celsius.
