Gang of highway robbers arrested, stolen two-wheelers, mobile phones recovered

BENGALURU: The police have arrested six highway robbers and recovered three two-wheelers worth Rs 3.4 lakh and six mobile phones from them. The recovered vehicles include one which they had stolen from an assistant sub-inspector of police attached to the Kamakshipalya police station.

On March 28, Suhail Khan and his gang including Adi and Dhanush, had stolen a two-wheeler belonging to ASI Nagaraj following which he had lodged a complaint at the Kamakshipalya police station.

On March 31, the gang had waylaid a truck which was on its way to Shivamogga, threatened the driver with a knife and robbed him of his mobile phone. They also got him to reveal his mobile phone password and forced him to transfer money through UPI. The truck driver had lodged a complaint with the Dobbspet police.
