Retired brigadier assaulted in road rage incident in Sanjaynagar

Brigadier (retd) Ravi Muniswamy alleged that he was attacked by three men.

BENGALURU: In yet another instance of road rage, a retired brigadier of the Indian Army was allegedly assaulted and the keys of his car taken away by some miscreants on New BEL Road in Sanjaynagar last Friday afternoon.

In his complaint to the Sanjaynagar police, Brigadier Ravi Muniswamy (retd), a resident of Chamundi Layout in Vidyaranyapura, stated that he was heading towards Kuvempu Circle from MS Ramaiah hospital when he was stopped by the three occupants of another car who asked him to lower his window. He also alleged that they snatched the keys of his car and assaulted him due to which he sustained injuries.

In a post on social media, he also claimed, “They were three people against one. They almost broke my back with the belt. The law and order situaton in Bengaluru has hit rock bottom. If the Good Samaritan onlookers had not helped me, possibly there would have been a death on the roads of Bengaluru today”. Responding to his post on X, the city police said, “We have forwarded your complaint to concerned police officers for necessary action”.

Brigadier Ravi Muniswamy (retd) has contested the last Assembly election from Byatarayanapura. The police have registered an FIR and are now on the lookout for the attackers.
