Food delivery agents held for smuggling ganja

UDUPI: The Udupi CEN (Cyber, Economic, and Narcotics) police have arrested three food delivery agents for smuggling ganja under the pretext of delivering food packets in Udupi.

The police, based on a tip-off , arrested Ravishankar, Anjal Baiju and Deviprasad from the road leading from Manchi to Indrali. The accused were waiting for customers and peddlers to sell the ganja.

The modus operandi was that ganja is brought by train from Palakkad, Kerala and the food delivery agents deliver it to consumers in Udupi. The accused had rented a house at Manchi.

Police have seized one-and-half kg of ganja, two bikes and four mobile phones, along with Rs 30,000 in cash.
