MANDYA: Close on the heels of the attacks on a medicine truck and a family travelling in a car, miscreants assaulted the driver and conductor of a KSRTC Flybus around 2.30 am two days. The incident has come to light only now.
This is the third incident reported on the Bengaluru-Mysuru highway within a week and the atrocities committed by petty goons are increasing day by day in Mandya district, putting public safety at risk.
The Flybus was traveling from Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru to Mysuru. After dropping off passengers in Mandya city, it was proceeding via the highway service road. At that time, local goons, who were under the influence of alcohol, drove a vehicle in the wrong direction on a one-way road and blocked the Flybus.
A KSRTC FlyBus driver and conductor were allegedly assaulted by a group of men on the service road of the Bengaluru-Mysuru highway, with videos of the incident going viral on social media. Police have arrested two accused in connection with the case.

When driver Vinod and conductor Eranna questioned them, the goons began abusing them in foul language. Shouting ‘I am Mandya local’, the goons showed no fear even when told a police complaint would be filed. They also abused the police force with obscene words. Later, they brutally assaulted the driver and conductor and acted violently.

Footage of the incident is currently going viral on social media, and there is strong outrage among the public. A case has now been registered at the Mandya Rural police station and police have launched an investigation. The citizens say that law and order in Mandya has completely deteriorated, and insist that police should punish such petty goons severely and provide proper protection to highway passengers.
