DAVANAGERE: Mines and Geology, and Horticulture Minister S S Mallikarjun, along with his family members, took part in a firewalking ritual during the Veerabhadreshwara temple fair on Monday for the victory of his wife Dr Prabha Mallikarjun, in the upcoming Lok Sabha election.
Mallikarjun takes part in the firewalking ritual annually, but this year, it assumes significance as his wife is contesting the Lok Sabha elections. It is believed that one’s wishes are fulfilled by walking over the burning coals and hundreds of devotees take part in the ritual every year.
