BENGALURU: Fearing honour killing, a woman has filed a petition in the High Court seeking protection from her father. The writ petition was filed seeking protection due to fear for her life.
Kajal Rajpurohit’s marriage was fixed against her consent and due to this, she filed the petition. Her father Ashok Rajpurohit fixed the marriage to Dr Yashpal from Rajasthan in her absence and preparations were under way even though Kajal opposed it.
Kajal was residing under the jurisdiction of Whitefield police station. After hearing the petition, the High Court issued directions to Whitefield police to provide appropriate protection to Kajal Rajpurohit.
