DAVANAGERE: A youth was assaulted by locals on suspicion of him being a child-lifter in Honnali town. Locals alleged that he attempted to kidnap children in Durgigudi area of Honnali town.
They severely thrashed him and a video of the assault has gone viral on social media. After learning about the issue, Honnali police visited the spot and shifted the youth to the taluk hospital.
The youth is said to be mentally ill and the incident occurred under the jurisdiction of Honnali police station.
