ED raids 3 locations in Bengaluru linked to Exalogic owned by Pinarayi Vijayan’s daughter

BENGALURU: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday conducted raids at three locations in Bengaluru including Exalogic Solutions, an IT company owned by former Keralam CM Pinarayi Vijayan’s daughter T Veena.

The raid in Bengaluru was conducted by a Kerala in connection with the Cochin Minerals and Rutile Ltd (CMRL) scam case. The ED has conducted raids at more than 1o locations in Keralam including the former CM’s house.

Between 2017 and 2020, Rs 1.72 crore was paid to Exalogic from CMRL even though no services were provided. After the allegation surfaced, the Centre directed SFIO to investigate. In April 2025, the Union Ministry of Corporate Affairs sought prosecution against T Veena related to illegal payments.

In a 160-page prosecution complaint, SFIO reported Veena, CMRL Managing Director Shashidharan Kartha, and 25 others as accused. The names of several companies including CMRL, Exalogic Solutions, and its subsidiary Empower India Capital Investments were included.

Veena’s firm received Rs 2.70 crore from CMRL. Separately, the Income Tax Interim Settlement Board reported in 2023 that Rs 1.72 crore were paid to the company, citing CMRL employee deposits. Veena has been charged under Section 447 of the Companies Act, 2013, related to corporate fraud.
