BENGALURU: The United States of America is gearing up for the election. The US elections will also significantly impact individuals of Indian origin. Notably, this time, US Vice President Kamala Harris of Indian origin is contesting for the presidency.

Meanwhile, according to sources, senior Congress leader and Deputy CM DK Shivakumar has received a special invitation from Kamala Harris. He is likely to meet former US President Barack Obama on Tuesday. This comes at a time when Rahul Gandhi is already in the US.

Former US president Donald Trump is putting up a fight as a Republican candidate and hopes to become president for the second time. In this context, DK Shivakumar will be flying to America tonight with his family.

It is reported that DK Shivakumar will be attending a grand event in North Carolina, USA, and will return to India on September 14 after the event.

Prior to his USA tour, DK Shivakumar met chief minister Siddaramaiah before leaving for a 7-day private visit to America and had a meeting at the chief minister’s residence.

The DK Shivakumar’s family, including his wife Usha, daughters Aishwarya and Abharana, son Akash, and son-in-law Amarthya Subrahmanya Hegde, are accompanying him on the trip.

The Deputy CM office has requested a meeting with US Vice Presidential candidate Kamala Harris and former US President Barack Obama during their visit, but it is not confirmed yet. They will be leaving for America tonight at 8:30 PM from Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru.
