CHAMARAJANAGAR: A deer which had fallen into an abandoned well in a farm land at Kabballi village in Gundlupet taluk was rescued by the Forest Department staff on Thursday.

The animal was treated for wounds it had sustained.

The deer had strayed near the village from the forest and had fallen into an abandoned well on the farm belonging to one Mahesh.

The deer was later released into the wild.

On spotting the deer, the villagers informed the Forest Department. The team managed to rescue the deer from the well with the help of nets, treated it for wounds and later let the animal free.
