Tehseen Poonawala gets Shivamogga police notice in Sadhvi Pragya case

SHIVAMOGGA: The Kote police here have issued a notice to Delhi-based political analyst Tehseen Poonawala in connection with a complaint he had lodged against Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur. As per the notice, he was to present himself at 11 am on Wednesday, but did not show up.

The Kote police had issued the notice to gather details from him and to conduct preliminary inquiries. The notice sought his presence in order to register an FIR under Section 154 of CrPC. Tehseen had shared an image of the notice on his social media handles.

Poonawala had filed an online complaint against Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur and had tagged Shivamogga SP Mithun Kumar and Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on social media.

At an event on love jihad, Sadhvi Pragya Thakur had spoken for 45 minutes and allegedly advised people to keep their kitchen knives sharp. Her comments had created a storm in northern India and Poonawala had alleged that they created disharmony in society and sought registration of an FIR against her.
