BENGALURU: Sandalwood actor Darshan, known as ‘Challenging Star’, participated in a religious rituals along with his wife Vijayalakshmi the morning after the brutal murder of Renukaswamy, a resident of Chitradurga, investigation by the police has revealed.
On June 8, Renukaswamy, who had alleged sent derogatory messages to Darshan’s girlfriend Pavithra Gowda, was tortured, administered electric shocks and killed at a shed in Pattanagere. Darshan and Pavithra Gowda were present at the shed at that time. The next morning, Darshan took part in puja at the renovated flat of his wife Vijayalakshmi in Banashankari.
After sitting through the ceremony from 7.30 am to 10 am, Darshan then left for Mysuru citing a film shoot, the police investigation has revealed. The Kamakshipalya police arrested Darshan from Radisson Blu hotel in Mysuru after Renukaswamy’s murder came to light.
Meanwhile, Pavithra Gowda, who is in judicial custody, spent the night at the central prison in Parappana Agrahara where she has been allotted a separate cell in the women’s barracks. However, she remained mum all through the day on Friday. She also underwent a medical test.
Nine of the other accused — Pavan, Raghavendra, Nandish, Jagadish, Anukumar, Nagaraj, Lakshman, Deepak and Keshav — have been lodged in the quarantine cell in the prison.
