A verbal duel soon broke out into fisticuffs and exchange of blows.

CHITRADURGA: Chaos and confusion reigned at the district Congress office near Onake Obavva Circle here on Thursday evening after two groups engaged in a spat during a meeting of the party’s minorities wing.

Trouble broke out when supporters of district minorities wing president Abdullah and state vice-president Anwar got into a spat over not taking minority leaders into confidence. The target of the anger was Abdullah.

The two groups engaged in a verbal duel which soon escalated. In videos, party members can be seen jostling, pushing, shoving and exchanging blows. All this happened in the presence of the party’s minorities wing state secretary Abdul Gani Tahir, who was presiding over the meeting.
