The bus stand was inaugurated by the CM though work remains to be completed.

TUMAKURU: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who distributed various benefits among beneficiaries here on Monday, also inaugurated an incomplete bus stand work on which was taken up under the Smart City project.

Construction of the KSRTC bus stand was taken up under the Centre’s Smart City Project and about 30 per cent of the work remains to be completed. However, the CM went ahead and inaugurated it in what is being seen as aimed at the upcoming Lok Sabha election. Though a central scheme, the state government contributes 50 per cent of the funds.

The underconstruction bus stand building was given a coat of paint ahead of the inauguration. Home Minister G Parameshwara justified the move likening it to the consecration of the Ram temple at Ayodhya which, he said, was also incomplete.
